The Fshaj bridge

Located on the Drin River, the Fshaj bridge is 10 kilometers along the Gjakova-Prizren route. Due to the road’s crucial strategic and economic importance to the Ottoman Empire, the first bridge is thought to have been constructed in the seventeenth century since this route has connections to Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, etc.
The bridge was rebuilt at the time of Italy’s invasion during World War II. Within the arch of the bridge writes the name of the architect who designed this bridge – Simonsen, which inscription still exists today. The bridge is 37m long, 7m wide and 18.5m high.
