From Vision to Reality – first licenced group of tourist guides in Kosovo

July 10, 2026 marks a historic day for the tourist guide profession in Kosovo. With the issuance of the first licenses, this profession finally receives the recognition and institutional protection it has deserved for years.
Since the founding of GUIDEKS, we have been the strongest voice in the demand for the regulation of the profession, the establishment of standards and the creation of a fair system of professional licensing and certification. Today, after many years of work, dialogue and commitment, we see one of the most important results for the tour guide community.
We express our sincere gratitude to the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, especially the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, for their dedication to protecting and advancing this profession. This is an important step not only for tour guides, but also for the development of tourism and for the way our history, culture and heritage are presented to visitors from all over the world.
The licensing application process is open and we invite all colleagues to apply as these are the first group of tourist guides licensed by MCT: Naile Çekaj, Fisnik Thaqi, Orhan S. Ramadani, Fitim Bunjaku, Fatijona Bajraj, Adriana Pllana, Akil Cejku, Muhamed Cejku, Muamer Hasani, Ilir Sopjani, Enes Toska and Mirjeta Shatri.
