Certification of 13 national and local guides and GUIDEKS AGM in Vushtrri

On February 22, 2025, in ancient Viciana, namely in the premises of the old Vushtrri Castle, the seventh annual meeting of the GUIDEKS Members’ Assembly was held. At the meeting, the narrative and financial reports for 2024 were presented, discussed and approved, as well as the objectives for 2025 were approved. The Assembly also approved the new Membership Regulation, including the Professional Code of Ethics for our tourist guides.

Under the rays of the February sun, members had the opportunity to learn more about the history of the city of Vushtrri, including a short visit to the city’s Castle, under the guidance of Shukrane Begu.

The day, full of positive energy, concluded with the certification ceremony of 13 guides (6 national and 7 local), who have followed a rigorous training program, the most advanced so far in our country. The training was held from October 2024 to January 2025, where candidates for national guides went through a curriculum of 200 hours while those local with a total of 90 hours, where almost half of the hours were practical work and the rest were theoretical that included various topics of interest to our profession. The training was provided by GUIDEKS trainers certified by the European Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (FEG) and various professionals in the relevant fields. This first training program in Kosovo is based on the Memorandum of Cooperation between GUIDEKS, Ministry of Culture Youth and Sports, Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade of Kosovo, and was also supported by the PPSE Program.
